Climate Controlled Indoor Kennel
At Palmetto Creek the comfort and safety of the dogs is our priority. Our indoor, climate controlled kennel provides comfort, protection from the elements and a place for the dogs to recover after a long day of training in the field. Our Mitsubishi AC units are customized with a Quad-Polar Ionizing System to reduce odors, kill airborne viruses and bacteria.
The floors are professionally applied Sherwin Williams Epoxy Flooring System designed specifically for kennels, vet offices, etc. For the walls we used coated exterior panels that are easily cleaned and disinfected and the room is equipped with florescent lighting for day and LED nightlights.
Kennel Security and Biosecurity
Our kennel is disinfected daily utilizing a wall mounted system that mixes a measured amount of kennel approved solution with water through a dedicated hose and nozzle. We use KennelSol through this system to control odors, bacteria and viruses. The epoxy floor and coated panel walls allows complete cleaning of all surfaces. We also utilize a Wysiwash Sanitizing System which is effective against a wide range of pathogens including Canine Parvovirus.
The floor drainage system moves the water out of our kennel and into an aerated septic treatment plant. Disinfection combined with our vaccination, fecal exam and heart worm test requirements for all dogs entering our facility ensures that we maintain a healthy environment for you pup.
All portions of our kennel, both inside and out, are protected by a camera security system. We can monitor the system from monitors in the Kennel Office and from our cell phones with alert settings to notify us if there were ever an issue. All doors have with key pad entry locks. Our kennel staff is trained to keep doors locked at all times even when we are present.
Onsite Veterinary Care
Our veterinarian makes regular visits to our kennel. For the convenience of our clients this service is available to you for vaccination updates, routine care, etc. while your dog is at Palmetto Creek Kennels.
Having our vet onsite on a regular basis has allows us to maintain our kennel to the standards you should expect! We can address any issues from health concerns, disinfection and outdoor exercise yard maintenance as they relate to impacting the dog's health.
We also have 24 hour access to veterinary services as a contingency for emergencies.
Secure Exercise Yard
Our exercise yard is connected to the kennel and fenced to provide a secure area for dogs staying at Palmetto Creek to exercise, play and socialize. The yard is cleaned regularly and we maintain a pet friendly spray schedule to control pests.
This area is also monitored by our Security Camera System and is well lit for use after dark when needed.
Grooming
We do not offer professional grooming services at this time. We do have a grooming area where all dogs are bathed regularly to maintain the essentials while in training.
A bath, blow dry, ear cleaning and nail clipping are standard grooming services that are provided for client dogs at no additional charge.
Whelping Room
Our puppies are whelped in a separate, clean and quiet room. This helps our females feel safe and remain calm. It also avoids exposing our puppies to any potential issues prior to vaccinations.
There is also a security camera in this area where we can watch the room and the puppies as they get older and spend more time without 24 hour supervision. The whelping area also has a washer and dryer used to keep puppy bedding clean.
Training Grounds
Nestled on 40 acres, Palmetto Creek Kennels & Gundogs offers premier training facilities for retrievers and obedience dogs. Our property features:

Training Grounds & Water Features: Training grounds with a swim-by pond and a puppy water introduction area with a shallow beach, ideal for early water exposure.

Technical Pond: A 1.5-acre pond designed for advanced retriever training and specialized obedience work, including unique requests like kayak training.

Obedience Course: A dedicated course for both obedience and gun dog clients, fostering well-rounded skills.

Off-Site Training: Access to nearby private properties with diverse land and water features, perfect for developing exceptional retrievers and loyal family companions.
Ainley Dog Trailer
Not only do we go to great lengths to ensure your dog is safe and comfortable at the Kennel but also when traveling to the field for training, to competitive events and on our summer training trip. We currently use an Ainley dog trailer. The trailer has an aluminum frame with stainless outer covering as well as the interior of dog boxes. A ventilation fan, louvered doors, LED lighting and rubber floor mats keep your pup comfortable. A 40 gallon onboard water tank with pressurized water system and storage for training equipment and ATV allow us to efficiently and safely train your pup.
